Rittel’s EZ-Tan is a phenolic syntan tanning agent. It is a highly concentrated powder that costs less, tans more, and produces a high quality, white, soft, stretchy leathered skin. EZ-Tan tanned skins have negligible shrinkage, and are even washable. 1 lb. of EZ-Tan will fully tan 20 lbs. of wet skin weight. This is approximately 2 average sized deer skins or the equivalent by size in other smaller skins (10 - 14 fox or raccoon skins or 20 - 30 smaller skins such as muskrat or mink). Rittel’s EZ-Tan tanned skins and capes have an indefinite shelf life, and will not deteriorate or weaken with age. EZ-Tan contains no metals and is compatible with almost all pickling acids.

Rittel's ProPlus Tanning Oil is an anionic, bisulfited natural oil. It is an exceptional, odorless oil for penetration and softness. It is considered an all purpose oil, excellent for rugs, garments, and taxidermy work. ProPlus Oil is extremely stable in heat and will not discolor.

Rittel's Kwik-Tan is a phenolic based liquid syntan tanning agent. It produces a plump, stretchy, white leathered skin when used as directed. It is non-discoloring and safe for furs, hair and wool. Kwik-Tan tanned skins are water resistant and can be washed in a warm water and Wool-Lite solution. After 6-7 washings however, more oil should be applied to maintian softness. One quart of Kwik-Tan will tan approximately 5 average sized deer skins or the equivalent by size in other smaller skins.

Rittel’s Ultra-Soft Relaxer is the answer when it comes to relaxing air dried furs. It is unequaled for its penetrating powers to open up the fibers of the flesh and bring them to that "just skinned" condition. A limp, completely relaxed skin is much easier to flesh or shave and, unless the fibers are open, you may not get a full penetration of the pickle. Ultra-Soft allows the pickle to quickly acidify the flesh, thus preventing any slippage. Ultra-Soft’s washing qualities also clean the hair or fur of debris and remove any of the natural fatty oils. After relaxing, any fat, meat or membrane still remaining on the flesh can be removed, the skin rinsed, and placed in the pickle. Later, the skin can be shaved thin when fully pickled. Rittel’s Ultra-Soft is non-ionic and biodegradable. After use, it can be safely disposed of in a sewage or septic system. It has no residual and treated skins rinse free. It is extremely compatible over a wide range of other chemicals, including salt.
