Scot Dahms' "Walter A. Gibbs: Ohio Trains, Triumph Traps & Maryland Muskrats 1869 - 1941" Book contains lots of great historical information. This 300 page book was written in 2018 and is filled with historical black and white photos and diagrams. Walter A. Gibbs was a trapper and trap manufacturer in the early 1900's. He was not only instrumental in trap improvement but also in the knowledge of muskrat biology. He made in-depth research into muskrat breeding programs and farming. He also revolutionized the capture of live muskrats for shipping to other areas to restock areas lacking muskrats. His trap inventions allowed a large number of unharmed muskrats to be shipped worldwide. He developed many unique and important trap improvements. Many are still used today and were important to the modernization of traps and trapping techniques.

The Nordik Roe Call was developed specially for calling Roebuck. It is pre-tuned for all the sounds you need. Simply move the rubber band between the two outermost notches on the call to change sounds. This call has a double sound board that can be used to control the volume. If you want a softer sound, cover the large hole on the underside of the call with your thumb. When calling, alternate contact, agitation, agony sounds with a few minutes between for 20 to 30 minutes per stand.

The Nordik Sika Call was developed specially to imitate the call of a sika stag in rut. For calling sika stags during the rut, start by expanding the lower part of the call, place the mouthpiece to your lips and start to blow softly into the call, growl, and then soft again. Carefully change to blow hard to reach a high pitched whistling noise, then carefully change intensity again to blow short and soft and growl softly. Call three times like this, wait and adjust your next calling sequence to the response of the deer. For the best result, open and close your hands in front of the call for a more authentic sound. Make sure you do not blow any saliva into the mouthpiece. Note, sometimes stags approach without a vocal response. This call can also be used to imitate the distress call of a red deer calf. This sound agitates the hind herd, attracting them to come close, often barking. This type of calling is most successful in areas with dense red deer populations. For calling a red deer hind, expand the lower part of the call and place the mouthpiece between your lips and exhale. Blow short and longer thrusts of air for 15 to 20 seconds, rest for two to three minutes and continue to call like this for 15 to 20 minutes each stand. When calling in this way, you may also attract predators such as wolves and lynx in these areas where red deer are common.

The HAGz Tail Hook is a helpful muskrat skinning tool. Hang from a secure object and then insert the hook into the bottom of the tail an inch or two from the fur line. The point of the hook bites into the tail bone as downward pressure is applied, holding the muskrat in place and keeping it from falling while you skin. When skinning is complete, a simple flip of the thumb between the tail and hook will quickly free the muskrat from the hook. Ready for the next one. The hang loop was designed with a large loop as well as a 'loop gap' to either fit over the top of common fur shed objects such as a winch hook or by using the gap to slip onto a chain gambrel ring or other form of loop.
